Why a hardware wallet?

Hardware wallets store private keys offline, protecting them from malware and remote attacks. Signing occurs on the device — private keys never leave it.

Safety checklist (before setup)

Basic setup steps

  1. Go to the official start page and open Trezor Suite.
  2. Connect device and follow on-screen prompts.
  3. Create a PIN and write down your recovery seed.
  4. Confirm seed on device and run a small test transaction.

PIN, passphrase & recovery

PIN prevents local access. Passphrase is an optional extra layer (advanced). Recovery seed is the master backup—store offline.

Updates & supported coins
